Embracing A Spiritual Practice & Recognizing My Goddess Power

Call it the slow dip into the fall + winter season, but I’ve been feeling a major inner shift going on. Anyone else relate? I’ve been a Los Angeleno for well over a year now. And after a year, I think I’ve finally found my rhythm and more importantly, a space I feel like I truly belong and can use my voice.
I’ve always felt like I’ve had two parts of my being. Two parts of myself that I wasn’t ready to fully connect with and display, up until recently. One part led a life I followed since graduating from college where I immediately entered the corporate workforce. It was a life I was excited by and one that included meetings, networking events, conferences, brunches, and happy hours (not to mention a dependable salary & benefits). It was the life of a professional and corporate boss lady, excited by the challenges of earning a promotion and reaching new levels in my career. Then there’s been this other part that I was hiding out of embarrassment—a side fueled by Kundalini yoga, healing womxn circles, chakra cleansing, Palo Santo, superfoods, angel cards and crystals. A side of myself that meant following a conscious + connected life, creating my own career and listening to my own rules. I didn’t want to admit that I found so much more joy in giving in to this version of me. That going to my first yoga class, attending a beauty & wellness women conference and later working part-time for a health & wellness expert filled me up, so completely.
I’ve always been excited by this community. I’ve been lucky enough to know real, authentic women in this space that fight against the “rules” and make their own way. Women who truly empower and inspire me.
Britt and Tara from Elevate the Globe are two such women who have dramatically made a change in my life. Their mission in living a high vibrational life and elevating the world, one soul at a time, is a beautiful way to live and I just want to be around their spirit all the time. They’ve shown me the beauty behind mediation and more specifically, Kundalini.
I’ve also been inspired by Sophie Jaffe (of course!), Kelsey Patel, Jill Wintersteen (Spirit Daughter), Joanna Encarnacion, and Marissa Lace (plus so many others) who make it their goal to inspire you to live your best life full of bliss, abundance, love and BALANCE.
Inner strength and embracing your spirit means being able to hold an elevated space
and connect with your outside circumstances.
Tapping into that liberating & soulful energy of feeling like “yourself” is more about embracing quirks and tools that feed your spirit – as silly as some may seem – which can help build inner strength in the most profound and magical way. As a girl who’s always had trouble speaking out and using her voice, being able to find a space where you can connect with your inner goddess, no matter how woo-woo it seems is SO motivating.
Inner strength and embracing your spirit means being able to hold an elevated space and connect with your outside circumstances. I’ve been told that we are all spiritual beings merely having a human experience. In yoga, they say you are not your thoughts, you are not your body, you are not your emotions. You are so much greater than that. It’s all about having the inner strength to embrace your spirit in order to expand and transcend beyond the physical into that space where everything is connected and you meet your true life’s purpose.

Embracing a sadhana (daily spiritual practice)
In Kundalini, they teach you to develop your own sadhana, which means a “daily spiritual practice” and is the foundation of all spiritual endeavors. It’s a commitment to achieve your true purpose in this life and embracing your true inner strength.
"What is sadhana? It’s a committed prayer. It is self-enrichment. It is not something which is done to please somebody or to gain something. Sadhana is a personal process in which you bring out your best." - Yogi Bhajan
It doesn’t have to entirely look like meditation, Kundalini yoga, crystals, sage and prayer - but these tools have been a beautiful way to reconnect with my true self. For you, it can look like a delicious yoga flow, a yummy breakfast smoothie, strength training at the gym every day or journaling before you go to bed. It’s about setting a space to connect with yourself and the energy of the universe.
It’s about taking control of your life and open up the beauty in experience. Committing to your higher self (your goddess power) creates a life where your life becomes unique and every challenge becomes a new opportunity.
